CADILLAC ATS Coupe 2014 - 2019

Generation Information

Segment: None

Cadillac lost its laurels on the logo and brought their art&science design attitude with the 2014 ATS Coupe.
It looks like it wants to take the premium compact coupes by the storm. The edgy look with vertical headlights and taillights, the 18” light-alloy wheels are fit to compete against the BMW 4 Series and the Mercedes-Benz C-Class coupe.

Inside the cabin, it looks like two worlds collided: the old and the new are struggling to match their ideas across the dashboard. The instrument cluster looks like it was drawn in the early 90s. The vertical air-vents on the central console are guarding a modern infotainment system, with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay and touchscreen.

But is hard to understand why the start button is placed under the left-middle ventilation grille. Maybe it is there to pair with the hazard button that is placed on the passenger side. And there are more controversies: inside there are good quality materials, but not matching materials. There is leather, wood, chrome, black and gray plastic.

It is available with two engine choices: a 4-cylinder, 2.0-liter turbocharged with 276 hp and a 3.6-liter V6 that delivers 321 hp. The standard transmission is a 6-speed manual for the first and a 6-speed automatic for the latter. It is available either with rear-wheel-drive or all-wheel-drive. The Magnetic Ride control system for suspension is available, for better handling.
