Rolled out in 1996, the SEAT Alhambra is a large MPV manufactured by the Spanish company in Palmela, Portugal.
The Alhambra shares multiple parts with the Ford Galaxy and VW Sharan, two models which are built at the same plant and which convinced their parent companies, Ford and Volkswagen Group, to sign an agreement to develop this new SEAT model. The first generation Seat Alhambra was available in multiple engine configurations, starting with a 1.8-liter gasoline unit which produces 148 horsepower and ending with a 2.0-liter diesel engine developing 138 horsepower.
