VAUXHALL Astra Estate Astra Sports Tourer 2010 - 2012

Generation Information

Body style: None

Segment: None

The 2010 Vauxhall Astra station-wagon lost the usual “Caravan” name given by its manufacturer for such type of bodyworks and it was switched toward Sports Tourer name, the same as its bigger brother, Insignia Sports Tourer.
The Sports Tourer was added to the Astra lineup models to enhance its UK’s market share in the compact segment. While it shared the same wheelbase and most of the parts with the Astra hatch, the suspension featured key dynamic elements tuned for the UK roads.

The front part remained the same up to the B-pillar, but the trunk area was changed to host up to 500 liters (17.65 cu-ft) of space. The Vauxhall’s design team increased the total load length of the vehicle by 28 mm (1.1”) up to 1835 mm (72.2”). The interior side panels were flat, to optimize the load space. The rear seats featured fitted as standard or as an option (depending on the trim level) a 60:40 split-fold system and it could increase the load volume up to 1550 liters (54.4 cu-ft).

Depending on the trim-level and options, the Astra Sports Tourer featured a standard radio-CD player with a USB/AUX-in connection, while a CD500 Navi system offered a 7” color monitor with 1Gb internal flash memory for maps. For sound enhancement, an Infinity premium audio was offered, with 7 high-quality speakers and a sub-woofer.

The Astra boasted a seven engine lineup in its range. It started with a naturally aspirated 1.4-liter and went up to a 2.0 turbodiesel that offered 160 hp.
