VAUXHALL Astra Estate Astra Sports Tourer 2012 - 2015

Generation Information

Body style: None

Segment: None

The British brother of the European Opel Astra J received the same facelift as its sibling in 2012.
On the outside, some changes were made to the front end. There is more chrome on the grille and a redesigned bumper. In the rear, also, more chrome appeared and the overall look is more stylish.

The biggest changes can be found under the hood, though. There are still 23 engines versions available, as before the facelift, but the car has more power. The base model is a 1.4-liter gasoline with 100 hp, compared to the 87 hp of its predecessor. But if before facelift the top gasoline engine was a 2.0-liter OPC version with 280 hp, that was cut out and the top version for the Astra J facelift had a 1.6-liter turbo with 180 hp. For the diesel range, the base is the 1.3-liter CDTI from Fiat with 95 hp while the top is a punchy 2.0 bi-turbo with 195 hp and 400 Nm (295 lb-ft) of torque.

The interior of the Astra J facelift has three cupholders for the front passengers but the problems regarding the interior materials remained. It still has the same cheap plastic buttons. Overall, the facelift brought a better vehicle to look at, though, with nicer light-alloy wheels in the options list and few more colors to satisfy customers’ taste.
