A new five-passenger crossover SUV made by GMC, the 2009 Terrain, made its debut at the New York International Auto Show.
The 2009 Terrain goes on sale in late summer, with front-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive models, available in SLE or SLT version. Two new engines are offered on all Terrain models: a 2.4L DOHC unit (182 hp at 6200 rpm and 174 lb-ft at 4800 rpm of torque), and a 3.0 DOHC unit (264 hp at 6950 rpm and 222 lb-ft at 5100 rpm of torque). The 2009 Terrain is a direct competitor for the Ford Edge, the Mazda CX-7, the Nissan Murano and the Hyundai Santa Fe.
