By 2002, the entire E-Klasse had already gone through significant changes, having arrived as a visually refreshed vehicle fitted with a range of peppy engines and a redesigned interior.
The blokes over at AMG couldn’t keep their hands off the E models and delivered yet another performance model, the 55 AMG. Powered by a larger 5.4 L V8 petrol engine, the car came with standard impressive speed figures. Style and comfort weren’t left aside either with the E 55 having been released with 18” alloys, heated front seats and Xenon headlights, among others. Other options included a power sunroof, a CD changer and a digital phone.
