The coupe version of the Mercedes-Benz S-Class was introduced at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show.
It replaced the previous CL-class in the German’s stable. It was built to compete against Bentley Continental GT.

The show-off market consisted of luxury and opulent vehicles. And what a better way to show off than by embedding 47 Swarovski crystals into each headlight of the car, as an option. The S-Class coupe was designed and sold for those who were driving their own regular, 4-door S-Class on the road even if they were driving alone in the car most of the time. It was a personal luxury coupe.

Designed on a shortened wheelbase of the flagship S-Class, the S-Coupe featured frameless door windows, a sculptured side profile, and an arched greenhouse over the 2+2 interior. An AMG style grille with a 3D design mesh supported the center, big, three-pointed-star badge. In the rear, an underbody diffuser was installed between the two, big, squared exhausts.

Inside, the interior dome light was garnished with more Swarovski crystals. The bolstered front seats offered plenty of comfort for the front passengers. The dashboard featured big screens for the infotainment system and the digital instrument cluster. The electrochromic glass-roof could have been tinted at the touch of a button.

For the suspension, the S-Class coupe has received a clever feature that allowed the car to lean in when turning, like a bicycle or motorcycle on bends. The MAGIC BODY CONTROL that detected bumps and potholes in the road ahead, adjusting the suspension dampers.
