The scantily clad Sport Roadster may not have been as good looking as the 500/540 K Autobahnkurier/Luxus/Spezial models but it certainly packed enough power at the time thanks to its in-line 8-cylinder 4.6L petrol plant. 80 hp were enough to propel the car’s tube-like body throughout the 62 mph mark while the sturdy suspension system comprising live axles and semi-elliptic leaf-springs ensured a firm ride. Easily spottable thanks to its carved seat compartment and fast-back construction, the Sport Roadster was a very rare bird, having had a production time of only 1 year.
