MERCEDES BENZ GLE-Class Coupe GLE Coupe C292 2015 - 2019

Generation Information

Body style: None

Segment: None

A Mercedes-Benz equivalent of the BMW X6? Yep, the automaker firstly showcased such a car in Detroit at the beginning of 2015, and it is known as the GLE Coupe.
The first half of the car is almost identical to the normal Mercedes-Benz GLE-Class midsize SUV, but starting from the midpoint, the GLE Coupe arches its back towards the rear to create a nice, sporty, coupe shaped greenhouse on top of that muscular waistline. The rear end is completely different from the standard model, coming with unique LED taillights, bumper and exhaust tips.

On the inside, it comes with a more compact steering wheel, sport seats and a bit more cramped rear seats along with less luggage space. The rest is identical with the full on GLE.
The most notable version of the new GLE is the Mercedes-AMG GLE 63 S-Model which runs on a 5.5-liter twin turbo V8, developing 585 bhp and 768 nM of torque, being one of the quickest in the segment. Mechanically, you get a revised suspension, optimized driving modes as well as the standard 9-speed automatic gearbox.

Another 2 powerplants were available, a 3.0-liter V6 gasoline engine producing 362 bhp and a diesel engine, 3.0-liter with 255 bhp, which was expected to sell better than all of the others.
