Daringly styled and very well equipped, the 88 enjoyed great popularity with young customers, having also been marketed as a dating-vehicle. The car also registered a significant number of Nascar victories which further increased demand for the 88. It was so well-received that it was the single highest-selling Odlsmobile model for nearly 25 years.
