The 2001 Renault Clio is actually a facelift of the second generation model which now comes with bulgier headlights, a redesigned front end and re-styled bumpers.
The interior of the new car was refreshed with new materials while the engines were upgraded with a new 1.5-liter DCI. The engines are now ranging between 1.2-liter 16V and 1.6-liter 16V which could develop 110 horsepower and a maximum speed 195 km/h. The 2001 Clio continued to be available in both 3- and 5-door hatchbacks but also as a 4-door sedan especially addressed to the markets which didn’t adopt the hatchback body style too well.
