The Super Sport version of the second generation Camaro was introduced by Chevrolet in 1971.
The new model came with a newly-revised exterior, featuring a fastback roofline and ventless full door glass. Car’s interior also featured a bunch of new elements, including a redesigned dashboard (now incorporating the optional centre console). Due to difficulties in adapting to the new regulations for emissions, safety, and fuel economy, the SS model was discontinued at the end of 1972. starting 1973, the big block 6.5L V8 unit would not be available for purchase with the Camaro model.
